Blogging the IPRA Summit

Today I’m at the IPRA Summit listening to the opening session. The President’s Medal has been awarded to Transparency International for its work in 100 countries to fight corruption and encourage more openness and transparency. TI was founded by World Bank employees who were frustrated that people didn’t realise the suffering caused by corruption. Since the early 90s much has changed and bribery is now being outlawed in more and more countries.

TI is also a “living breathing proof that communications work.” For TI communications is just a side function, it is its main function.

  1. Sounds like a great conference, sorry to miss it. It's really useful for those of us who can't be there to hear what's happening from the blog though.
