Todd Defren at Shift Communications has emailed to let me know about the debut of its social media press release template. Shift are generously sharing it with the PR community and you can download it from Todd’s blog or the Shift website. My first impressions are favourable.
Ironically I read Todd’s email about the template while sitting at York railway station after a new business pitch to a software company. As part of the pitch I quoted Todd and Tom Foremski and suggested that this company is one that could actually benefit from using social media news releases.
Well I actually pitched it as News Release 2.0.
Hopefully the client will bite as I think it is something that could really work for them. It’s also potentially a really interesting client where we could really make some noise to help put them on the map.
UPDATE: In the spirit of social media press releases I’ve used Shift Communications’ release to add Todd’s smiling face to this post.
