Steve Rubel has blogged about a new company called Posima that aims to enable small businesses to easily create and update websites including simplifying e-commerce using Paypal.
It looks quite interesting but one thing that I didn’t like is the way it knocks Squarespace one of its competitors. There is nothing wrong with perhaps having a page comparing features/benefits but not to make it one of your main selling points. It would be different if it was a small company having a go at say Microsoft where they might be offering a genuine alternative to the dominant product.
Far better to sell your strengths and let customers decide.
In addition to being childish, it's also completely wrong. Squarespace, for 1/3rd the price, lets you use yourdomain.com with no restrictions whatsoever 🙂
I didn't get that far – I just didn't like it from watching the video presentations…
Just viewed Steve Rubel' blog, maybe it worth learning more.
I think you are absolutely right, Stuart. I think it's a neccesity to have a page comparing features/benefits, but it shouldn't be the core of what you do.
